News on PowerShell
There is always „something“ going on in PowerShell development and the engineering teams hosts the monthly PowerShell update call to communicate projects, the current status and progress. What you maybe do not know is that:
1.) This is public available as a Teams Call
2.) There is a video recording on Youtube for every monthly session
3.) There is a protocol in Github
In November there are a couple of interesting news and i „cherry-picked“ the best ones for you.
- The team is working on getting PS 7 as Standard into Windows.
- PS 7.3-preview 1 is planned for December 2021
- The PS Teams needs more people in feedback loops
- PSReadline GA is planned for January
- The PowerShell Gallery migration is completed. This will allow many long-awaited changes to the gallery and hopefully the release of PowerShellGet 3.0
- OpenSSH, which is now in the hands of the PS-Team is further developed and we will see some updates 2022. Maybe the next platform independent remoting protocol ?
